Q: How can I open my mobile site with the mobile site editor?

A: Login to your account at TagTag (my.TagTag).

(1) In the my.TagTag section My Mobile Sites choose the link edit beside the mobile site you want to open in the editor.

(2) Your mobile site will load in the mobile site editor.

(3) Here you will find the URL address of your mobile site displayed. This is the address you enter into your mobile phone to access your mobile site.

(4) By selecting the Settings link you will be able to edit the settings of your mobile site (site's description, site category, delete user comments for your mobile site and add or remove tags for your mobile site). Preview link enables you to preview your mobile site.

(5) On the left side of the editor you will find the structure of your mobile site. All pages (elements) that you have within your mobile site are listed. In our example we have a mobile site named guide. The mobile site guide includes pages named about, contact, index and links. It also includes a mobile album and blog.

The highlighted text indicates that the page named index* is currently opened in the editor. * indicates that this page is setup to be the default home page. This means that, when you open your mobile site with your mobile phone this site will appear as the home page.

(6) This is the window of page editor.

(7) With the help of the icons in editor's toolbar you will be able to edit the content of your mobile site.

(8) In the editor field you can enter the content of pages your of your mobile site.

 

Q: Where can I change the description of my Mobile Site?

A: When creating your Mobile Site you entered a description for it. You can always change the description of your mobile site. Login to your account (my.TagTag) and open your mobile site with the mobile site editor.

(1) In the mobile site editor select the link Settings.

An editor for editing your mobile site settings will open.

(2) Here you can change or enter a new description for your mobile site. It will be used in my.TagTag console as a description of your mobile site and other users may find it helpful in their search. Make the description short and clear and let it describe your mobile site accurately.

(3) From the dropdown menu you can select a category for your mobile site. Only choose relevant category that describes your mobile site content and purpose.

Confirm the changes you made to Site settings with clicking on the Save button.

 

Q: Can I remove or edit users comments from my mobile site?

A: Yes, you can remove inappropriate user comment from your mobile site. First login to your account and open your mobile site in the mobile site editor.

(1) In the mobile site editor select the link Settings.

(2) An editor for editing your mobile site settings will open. In the editor select the second tab Comments. Here you will find all user comments for your Mobile Site listed.

(3) You can delete single inappropriate comments. Find the comment you want to delete and select the Delete comment button.
You will be asked to confirm deleting the comment.

 

Q: Can I add or remove Tags for my mobile site?

A: Yes, you can add and remove inappropriate tags for your mobile site. Login to your account and open your mobile site in the mobile site editor.

(1) In the mobile site editor select the link Settings.

(2) An editor for editing your mobile site settings will open. In the editor select the third tab Tags.

(3) Here you will find all tags for your mobile site listed. Find the tag you want to delete and select the Delete button beside the Tag.
You will be asked to confirm deleting the tag.

(4) To add a new tag for your mobile site fill out the text field and click on the Add Tag button.

 

Q: How can I add pages to my mobile site?

A: (1) Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor.

(2) On the left side of the editor you will find the structure of your mobile site.
All pages that you have within your mobile are listed. In our example we have a mobile site named guide. The mobile site guide includes pages named about, contact, index and links. It also includes a mobile album and blog.

To add a new page to your mobile site click on the Add new page link or go with the mouse over the first folder (in our case folder guide - which indicates the name of the mobile site). Click on the first icon () Create new item.

You can create a new page in your mobile site.

You can delete the folder and all of its content. You will be asked to confirm deleting of all the elements from your mobile site.

(3) An editor for creating a new page will open.

(4) Select the type of page you want to add to your mobile site.

You can add:

  • new Directory,
  • new Page,
  • Guestbook,
  • Blog,
  • Album,
  • Web Cam,
  • Email,
  • RSS Feed or
  • Social network

to your mobile site.

(5) In the text field enter the name for the page. Use only small letters (a - z), numbers (0 - 9), hyphen (-) and no space.

(6) Confirm creating the page by clicking the Create button.

Directory:
Adding a new directory to your mobile site.

Page:
Adding a new page to your mobile site.

Guestbook:
Adding a Guestbook to your mobile site allows visitors of your mobile site to post messages to it. You can use the guestbook as a mobile chatroom. You will be able to remove inappropriate messages from your guestbook in guestbook editor.

Blog:
Adding a blog to your mobile site will allow you to write your mobile blog. You will be able to post blog entries and readers of your blog can leave comments on blog entries!

Album:
Adding a mobile album to your mobile site will give you the opportunity to store your pictures in a mobile album. You and other visitors of your mobile site will be able to view your album with their mobile phone!

Web Cam:
By adding a Web Cam to your mobile site you can publish captured screens from your webcam to your mobile site.

Email:
Adding an email page to your mobile site allows you to view access your email accounts. You will have to setup the email accounts you would like to use. Find more information about how to use Email services at TagTag here.

RSS Feed:
By adding RSS Feed page to your mobile site you can read updated contents from your favourite internet sites, blogs and other sites which supports RSS Feed.

Social Network:
By adding RSS Feed page to your mobile site you will be able to access several information from your Facebook, Friendster, Hi5, MySpace, Orkut or twitter account.

Once you have created the page you can access it with your mobile phone by entering the complete URL address of the page.

 

Q: How to edit pages within your mobile site?

A: To edit pages of your mobile site open it in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) Here you can change the title of the page. In the text field enter a new title for the page.

(2) This is the editor's toolbar. Find the detailed explanation of each icon below.
Working with the page editor is similar to other known text editors with basic text editing and formating options.

(3) Editor field for editing the content of the page that is opened in the editor.

Explanation of the icons in the editor's toolbar:

  Undo: undo last action
  Redo: redo last action
  Cut: mark the text, image or other part of the content to cut out
  Copy: copy marked text, image or part of the content
  Paste: paste copied items to the editor
  Paste as plain text: paste copied text as plain text; all formating copied from other text editors (like MS Word) will be removed
  Bold: mark the text you want to bold
  Italic: mark the text you want to be displayed as italic
  Underline: underline the marked text
  Text color: change the color of a selected text
  Background color: change the background color of a selected text
  Find: search for a text in the content of the page
  Replace: replace text with other text in the content of the page
  Remove format: removes all formating from other text editors
  Insert special character: you can select special characters to insert them to your page
  Insert horizontal line
  Insert / edit table
 Insert link: to a page within your mobile site, for downloading pictures or ringtones
  Remove link
  Insert / edit picture
 Insert counter to your mobile site

 

Q: How to insert a table to my mobile site?

A: To add a table to a page of your mobile site open it in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) In the editor's toolbar select the Insert/edit table icon.

(2) A new window Table properties opens. Here you will define the properties for your table.

Enter the number of rows and columns, define the size of the table border and choose the alignment. For table alignment you can choose among Not set, Left, Center and Right alignment.

You can also specify table width (in percent or in pixels), hight, cell spacing and cell padding. Enter table Caption and Summary.

Note that not all mobile phones support all table properties you setup.

(3) Confirm the table properties by clicking the Ok button.

(4) The table is inserted to your page. Here the Table Caption is displayed.

(5) Click in a table cell to enter the text.

Note that you have to press the Save button after you stopped editing the content of the page.

 

Q: How to edit tables?

A: To edit a table you have inserted to a page of your mobile site open it in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) To edit a table select it with the mouse and right-click the mouse.

(2) By right-clicking the mouse a menu for editing the table opens.

Cell options:

  • Insert Cell: insert a new cell to the table
  • Delete Cells: delete selected cell(s) from the table
  • Merge Cells: merge selected cells
  • Split Cell: split selected cell in two cells
  • Cell Properties: define cell properties

Row options:

  • Insert Row: insert an additional row to the table
  • Delete Rows: delete selected row(s) from table

Column options:

  • Insert Column: insert an additional column to the table
  • Delete Columns: delete selected column(s) from table

Delete Table:

  • delete the selected table from the page

Table Properties:


Cell Properties:

When you right-click on the selected table a menu opens. Go to Cell -> Cell Properties.

(1) A new window Cell Properties opens. Here you will define the properties of the selected table cell.

You can define cell width and height, word wrap, horizontal and vertical alignment, rows and column span as well as background and border color.

Note that not all mobile phones support all cell properties you define.

(2) Confirm the cell properties by clicking the Ok button.

 

Q: How to add links to your mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

In the editor filed place the mouse pointer where you want to insert a link. In editor's toolbar select the Insert/edit link icon .

(1) A new window for editing the link opens.
Select the first tab Page in link editor.

(2) From the drop down menu you can choose between the mobile sites you have created in your account.
Below all elements of the selected mobile site are listed. To insert a link to a page within your mobile site, select the page from the list.

(3) Link URL address will automatically be entered.

If you want to enter a custom URL address, type the complete URL address in the text field.

(4) Confirm the inserting of the link by clicking on the Ok button.

(5) In the pop-up window enter the text for the link. To insert the link press the Ok button.

 

Q: How to add a link for downloading pictures from my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

In the editor filed place the mouse pointer where you want to insert a link. In editor's toolbar select the Insert/edit link icon.

(1) A new window for editing the link opens.
Select the second tab Picture in link editor. All your private pictures are listed in the window.

(2) Select the picture from the list.

(3) Link URL address for downloading the picture will automatically be entered.

If you want to enter a custom URL address for downloading a picture from TagTag public picture directory, type the complete URL address of the picture in the text field. You will find the URL address on picture's detailed page.

(4) Confirm the inserting of the link for downloading a picture by clicking on the Ok button.

(5) In the pop-up window enter the text for the link. To insert the link press the Ok button.

 

Q: How to add a link for downloading ringtones from my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

In the editor filed place the mouse pointer where you want to insert a link. In editor's toolbar select the Insert/edit link icon .

(1) A new window for editing the link opens.
Select the third tab Ringtone in link editor. All your uploaded ringtones are listed in the window.

(2) Select the ringtone from the list.

(3) Link URL address for downloading the ringtone will automatically be entered.

(4) Confirm the inserting of the link for downloading the ringtone by clicking on the Ok button.

(5) In the pop-up window enter the text for the link. To insert the link press the Ok button.

 

Q: How to insert pictures to my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

Place the mouse cursor at the spot where you want to insert the picture to your page. In editor's toolbar select the Insert/edit picture icon .

(1) A new window Picture properties for inserting the picture opens.

(2) Select the picture from the list.

(3) Picture URL address for inserting the picture will automatically be entered.

If you want to enter a custom Picture URL address for inserting a picture from TagTag public picture directory, type the complete URL address of the picture in the text field. You will find the URL address on picture's detailed page.

(4) Confirm the inserting of the picture to the page by clicking on the Ok button.

(5) You also have the possibility to upload a picture to your private pictures at this time. Select the Upload new picture link to upload a picture from your computer to your account at TagTag.

(6) Browse for the picture on your computer that you want to upload and enter a description for the picture.

(7) Press Upload to upload the selected picture to your TagTag account.

To insert the new uploaded picture to the page scroll through your listed picture to find it and select it. Confirm inserting the picture to the page by clicking the Ok button. The picture will be inserted into the page.

 

Q: Can I edit pictures I have inserted to my mobile site?

A: To edit a picture you have inserted to your mobile site, open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) Select the picture in the editor field.

(2) You can resize the selected picture diagonal, vertical or horizontal.

To delete the inserted picture form the page select the picture and press delete key on your keyboard.

To change the inserted picture to another picture select the picture and right-click the mouse. In the menu select Picture Properties and the window Picture properties opens. Select a new picture among your listed private pictures.

 

Q: How to add a counter to my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

Place the mouse cursor at the spot where you want to insert the counter to your page. In editor's toolbar select the Insert counter icon .

This will add the counter to the page. A counter is an item which displays the number of visitors of the page.

 

Q: How to add weather forecast to my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) In the editor filed place the mouse pointer where you want to insert the weather forecast.

(2) In editor's toolbar select the Insert weather icon .

A new window for inserting a Weather forecast opens.

(3) In the search field enter City (worldwide) or State name and click Search.

(4) From the list of search results select the city or location for the weather report.

(5) You can select additional options like:

  • report type: current conditions or 5 day report
  • show pictures: additional to text description of weather conditions also pictures will be shown on your mobile site.

To confirm inserting the weather forecast to the page click on the OK button.

You can add as many weather forecasts to your mobile site as you want! There are no limitations on the number of weather forecasts you add.

Once you added the weather forecast(s) to your mobile site the icon picture for weather forecast is displayed in the editor.

By selecting and double-clicking the picture of the weather forecast you can edit the weather forecast.

To delete a weather forecast from your mobile site just select the picture of the weather forecast in the editor and press the Delete key on your keyboard. Before you exit the editor make sure you save the changes to your mobile site.

 

Q: How to add social network status to my mobile site?

A: Open your mobile site in the mobile site editor. From the tree at the left side of the editor select the page you want to open in the editor.

(1) In the editor filed place the mouse pointer where you want to insert the social network status.

(2) In editor's toolbar select the Insert my social network status icon .

A new window for inserting a social network status opens.

(3) From the drop-down menu select a social network and follow the online instructions. Currently only adding your Facebook or Twitter status is supported.

For adding Facebook network status to your mobile page you will have to authorize TagTag application and generate a code, which you will have to enter in TagTag mobile site editor.

For adding Twitter network status to your mobile page you will have to enter username and password of your Twitter account.

After entering all needed information click the Add account button.

To confirm inserting your social network status to the page click on the OK button.

You can add as many social network statuses to your mobile site as you want! There are no limitations on the number of social network statuses you add.

Once you added the social network status(es) to your mobile site the icon picture for social network status is displayed in the editor.

By selecting and double-clicking the picture of the social network status you can edit the social network status.

To delete a social network status from your mobile site just select the picture of the social network status in the editor and press the Delete key on your keyboard. Before you exit the editor make sure you save the changes to your mobile site.

 

Q: Does Mobile Site editor support languages other than English?

A: Actually, there are many non-English pages listed in the TagTag mobile site directory. TagTag Mobile Site editor uses character set defined in your computer local settings. The default encoding is UTF-8 and supports all character sets.

Mobile sites created at TagTag before October 30 2003 have no encoding specified.

 

Q: Is it possible to add my own WML code to Mobile Site editor?

A: Currently it's not possible to add WML code to TagTag mobile sites.

 

Q: Is it possible to upload WML, created by 3rd party tools to TagTag?

A: Currently it's not possible to add WML code created by 3rd party tools to TagTag mobile sites.
